Folkloric performance by Bomba Yemaya, an Afro-Puertorican Bomba & Orisa fusion drum & dance ensemble at La Boca River.

Enjoy local vendors & live DJ. Explore local shops, restaurants, and activities in town. Some of our favorites are La Fonda Gourmet, El Yunque Rainforest, and even Surf lessons!

We’ve put together some resources to help you prepare. This event will begin at 9AM at La Pared Beach in Luquillo, PR where we will meet to begin the procession to the river to deliver our offerings. If you’re using GPS, you can use the address for Boardrider’s Surf Bar and Grill as a meeting location (25 Calle Miguel Veve Calzada, Luquillo, 00773, Puerto Rico). Please wear comfortable walking shoes & bring an umbrella, a beach chair, or a blanket to sit. Although this will take place at the water, THIS IS NOT A SWIMMING EVENT. Food & gift vendors will be nearby.

The closest airport to Luquillo is the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU)

Transportation

If you are staying in the Luquillo area, it should be easy to get an Uber from the airport to your lodging. However, for transportation back to the airport or for any additional excursions, We strongly suggest renting a car or using a local driving service. If you are staying outside of Luquillo & are traveling there just for the event, we also recommend renting a car or using a local driving service. Your hotel or Airbnb host should be able to point you to additional resources.

We use Ali’s services often, so he has expressed that he’s willing to do group rates for folk’s who coordinate with him in advance. There are many people traveling to Puerto Rico for this event, so if you are interested in using his services at all, call him ASAP to discuss options & itinerary. Tell him you’re traveling to Puerto Rico for Niambi’s annual event. 

Additional Excursions 

If you are staying in Puerto Rico for long enough, I strongly suggest taking time for some excursions! The island is breathtaking and there’s so many amazing things to do! If you want to explore local cuisine, tour the rainforest, or even spend a day on a private boat, I personally recommend booking a tour with Real PR Tours. They have everything!
